I Mod. A Elmax Other 1909 --- --- Äußerst selteneThe second lens used with the Leica I Mod. A was called Elmax, it is still a 5 element lens like the earlier Anastigmat lens. Already in second year of production Leica equipped their cameras with the 4 element Elmar lens. Only about 700 cameras came out the Elmax lenses. The original 'Elmax' was updated by Leitz about 1930, it still has the early top plate and most important the 5 element lens engraved Elmax 3. 5 5cm, dimpled mushroom release, the
